One of the human inkbrushes drawing out lines on the giant paper during the stunning Beijing Olympics opening. I had to render this out first thing on a Saturday morning because the imagery was just too strong.

Are they dressed like that? I can’t really tell. I could see how the giant brush was strapped to the forearm, and also the female ones have long hair, but the makeup and the way the clothes cover them is my own imagination. There’s only so much you can see from black.

Done in 4 hours. Jeez, and I call this a quick one.

Something I spent too long a time on. Been on and off with this for the past two weeks, so finally decided to get it out of the way.

At least I figured how to apply textures.

Saw a movie that featured a mother meeting her daughter-in-law for the first time. Not only were they of different ethnicities, but they are also extreme opposites in history and character. Sounds like a recipe for a cliché disaster.

The two however decided differences be damned, and immediately accepted each other as who they are. That, to me, was cool, and I wonder if real life can be that simple. Concept’s worth an art piece, so here it is.

A quick and dirty one, to see what I can come up with in one night. I’m happy with the smile and pose, but I definitely, definitely need to work on the coloring.

Army chick ready with her Kali sticks. Inspired by the Discovery Channel special on Kali martial artists, and also from MI:3 (there was a short Kali scene with ropes around the business end of the sticks. Which made sense, because sticks can only take so much hard thwacking before they shatter).

Had the line drawing for quite a while. Just made up my mind to color it in one night to get it out of the way, and after 6 hours straight, I’m happy with what I got.

Art is rough. Am rusty. Need more practice.

Migrating to MySQL meant using a new server, so I decided to restart the blog from scratch. Will need to fill this up with links to images, but that’ll be done over time.
